Our mission is to create and bring calm rooms to those who need it, where they need it in order to make their world a little better.
Make the difference in someone’s life.
Be an inclusive institution.
As calm rooms become more and more of the norm, be one of the first to have a professionally installed calm room in your school, venue, workplace, hospital ER department, to showcase your dedication to including those needing a space for calming.
See more attendees.
With an estimated 15% of the population in the United States having some form of sensory sensitivity, anxiety, panic disorder, or ptsd, watch as ticket sales exceed expectations since you got Hang Ten Calm Rooms to do a mobile calm room at your event and those who weren’t planning on going are now going.
Watch students AND teachers excel.
With students not feeling on edge of having a panic attack or feeling overly stimulated from lights, sounds, environments, they perform better in school. Teachers will notice the benefit of having students in their classroom who feel taken care of.
Go Big or Small.
If a room dedicated to being a designated calm space isn’t for you then look into Hang Ten Calm Bags. Our Calm Bags include a custom designed drawstring bag, a pair of headphones, and as many sensory friendly mindfulness toys as we can stuff in these bags!
Go portable from room to room.
If a permanent calm room isn’t where your needs are, look into the portable calm room that rolls with easy access on a cart to go from room to room and sets up within minutes.
Share it.
The largest hurdle to inclusivity is awareness. By sharing with others about Hang Ten Calm Rooms you are contributing to the inclusion of those who have felt left out, not good enough, or not normal enough to attend large events or stay calm in a school, workplace, or entertainment venue. We deeply appreciate your willingness to talk about Hang Ten Calm Rooms to those who should hear about us. All of our thanks!
Who We Are
Hang Ten Calm Rooms is the brainchild of Brandon and Sarah Mooberry of Peoria, Illinois. Brandon runs an annual autism resource fair at the Peoria Civic Center called Sensory Ignite. Brandon is a passionate advocate for autism awareness because of his brother Josh. Josh is on the autism spectrum and Brandon wants to make sure he grows up in a world that includes him.
While planning the first Sensory Ignite, Sarah Mooberry remarked that there should be a room dedicated to being quiet, low lit, and not very busy so if anyone feels overwhelmed at the resource fair they could access a space to calm down in before going back out into the fair. After the amount of comments from parents, Brandon and Sarah realized this is something needed to be offered in a lot more places than there currently are. Out of that, Hang Ten Calm Rooms was born.
